Success Stories

For a turnaround company backed by a large institutional investor and a venture capital firm, contracted to search for a President and COO.  The client company was transitioning from a development organization and attempting to commercialize its technology.  A security application with broad potential and a limited window of opportunity, the company hired a very talented executive who rapidly exceeded their expectations.

For a venture-backed Internet Bank, retained initially to find a CFO under a very tight timeline due to an application deadline to fulfill regulatory requirements.  We were selected to be one of three firms each managing one management team level assignment.  Within ten days, we were given the second of the three assignments and were retained to recruit a Chief Lending Officer.  Following the successful completion of the first two searches, we were engaged to attract a Vice President of Operations to the team.  Again, in very short order, the client engaged our firm to recruit two senior IT professionals to assist in the development and support of the mission critical website.  All five assignments were concluded in rapid succession, building out the management team prior to the institution’s launch.

For an Internet furniture directory provider, engaged to find a Vice President of Marketing.  The challenge was to identify individuals with both a technology orientation and a consumer products and/or retail background.  The successful candidate had risen through the ranks with a prestigious packaged goods organization and, when we found him, was working for a large retail company.  He joined our client company just six weeks following the initiation of the search and began adding value immediately.

For a start-up in direct marketing, we were retained to find a Vice President of Advertising Sales.  Two challenges faced us as we embarked on the search process as the company was both at an extremely early stage and sat in a volatile market segment with comparable organizations going out of business.  Through a well-defined search strategy, we attracted a key member of the management team at one of the early players in the space to join the company and help refine its business model and direction using his learning from his prior experiences.

For an international software company in the B2B Enterprise Application Integration market, retained to recruit a new CEO. The incumbent was living abroad commuting internationally while directing worldwide activities.  Publicly traded and with annual revenues growing through the $30 million mark, the company needed an experienced, growth company CEO who could help bolster the company’s market presence and lead it to the $100 million level.  Introduced a slate of well-qualified candidates and completed the assignment with the first choice candidate accepting the position.

For a leading network management software company on the verge of going public, recruited a Vice President of North American Sales.  The search had a very tight time frame in order to bring the new executive on board prior to the firm’s IPO.  We successfully completed the search in advance of the liquidity event.  The selected candidate has subsequently been promoted twice and continues to contribute to the organization’s growth and success in the position of Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Customer Service.

For a leading provider of telecommunications switching equipment, initially retained to recruit a CFO to help take the company public, then subsequently conducted other key senior management searches as the organization grew rapidly and the senior management team expanded.  One of the leaders in the programmable switching market, the company was ultimately acquired by a global telecommunications technology company.
